WHO WE ARE

We are Joel, Amy, Sydney, Brooklyn, Jackson, and Jasper, collectively known as the Slater Six.

After nineteen years in pastoral ministry, we felt God's direction to serve pastors and churches in Malawi, Africa, pushing us from our comfort zone to a space of growth.

During our 14 months in Malawi, we studied Chichewa, taught at MAGIT/MAGU, and initiated a water filter project. It was then we learned of our youngest son's Autism diagnosis. Faced with a decision, we chose to relocate for his care and were reassigned to Durban, South Africa, as part of the Urban Tribes project team. In 2022, we embraced a new role at the national level, joining the "Healthy Pastor/Healthy Church” initiative. This dedicated team travels across all South African provinces, helping pastors foster spiritual, emotional, relational, and vocational health. From this foundation, churches thrive and flourish.

Our Mission

Drawing upon our 19 years of pastoral ministry, we aim to identify, develop, and deploy new pastors who will exemplify Christ-centered communities for our generation and those to come.
