We are excited to be with this re-launch of a historical church in the heart of exploding eastern Portland.
We welcome all ages, races, types and sizes! Come as you are and grab a cup of coffee in the lobby before the gathering. We engage in musical worship together as families, after which our NXGEN rooms open up: we have Nursery care for birth-PreK, and Kids Church for K-6th. 6th-12th grade students meet on Tuesday nights (more info to come!) 6th grade students can choose Kids Church or the Tuesday event, or both - depending on where they feel most comfortable.
MUSIC // We sing together as a way to worship God. This is meant to be an interactive, participatory experience. We invite you to join in by following the on-screen lyrics, or just enjoy the atmosphere. We usually stand but it's okay to sit too. Our musical flavor is a mix of contemporary songs from the last ten years or so, with a few favorite hymns sprinkled here and there.
OFFERING // Christians are called to give tithes and offerings as an act of worship, obedience and thanksgiving to the Lord. We don't pass a plate, rather we encourage people to give their financial offerings anytime during the service, as an act of worship, in either of the two offering boxes in the main auditorium. You can also give online by clicking "GIVE" above. If you are a guest, you are not expected or obligated to give.
MESSAGE // We are committed to preaching the Word of God, or rather letting the Word preach, as it is living and active. We preach from the English Standard Version (ESV); copies are available for use as we encourage following along. Don't have a Bible? Let us know - we'll give you one today!
PRAYER // After the gathering, members of our prayer team
are available to pray with you. You can also request prayer under “Connect” above.
COMMUNION // Jesus compared his broken body to bread, and his spilled blood to wine - and he instructed his followers to consume some bread and wine together regularly, as a way of remembering the death He died for us. We call this Communion. To simplify and keep it family-friendly, we serve crackers and grape juice during our Communion time - the first Sunday of the month. If you're a believer in Jesus, you are welcome to join us in this.
KIDS // We love our younger generations as much as our elder ones! And we value singing to God together as families. We provide ribbon streamers for kids who feel a little wiggly during the musical worship time. Once the music is over, our NXGEN classes open up: Nursery for birth-Pre-K and Kids Church for K-6th grade. 7th-12th grade students are welcome to help out in different areas on Sunday mornings or enjoy the message with their parents. All our childcare workers are background checked and no worker is ever alone with a child not their own. We use The Gospel Project curriculum from LifeWay.org for our Kids Church and we provide a snack unless instructed not to do so.
